Thousands of girls were strolling through the city this sunny afternoon. It is hard to take pictures if you do not want to behave like a tabloid paper photographer…

Czech Police: We Can Not Seize Expensive Cars

April 10, 2008 Petr Bokuvka 2 comments

The Czech Police thought they had an effective tool in their fight with drunk or otherwise irresponsible drivers…they started to seize their cars…

But– oops.

Now they realized the law does not enable them to seize expensive cars. In other words, idiots behind the wheel who own more expensive cars do not need to worry. Why? Because according to some judges and legal experts the severity of the offense must correspond to the punishment. In other words, the cops can not seize a 800,000-crown car to a repeat offender DUI driver. The seizure must be approved by a district attorney. And the DA’s are the ones to claim that the punishment would be unreasonable…

That said, the police will only seize cars to poorer people, the iDNES.cz news server writes.

All people are equal when it comes to law. Well, seems like some people are “more equal”
