What a place to visit and pretty good site too.
Why is the Vietnamese market considered an ‘eye-sore’, while the vegetable market escapes this label? They are both open-air clusters of covered stalls with assortment of goods stocked beneath. I do not see such a big visual difference.
Simply because selling vegetables “outside” is a generally accepted tradition. Selling sweatshirts, shoes and other merchandise in poorly constucted shacks that are a fire incident waiting to happen…is not.
