Lost In Greece, Part III

In Culture, Czechs on July 19, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

There are two things that will surely pull money out of Czechs’ pockets quite fast around here.

A) Fines. Apparently nudism is illegal in Greece, with some rare exceptions. So even if you are on a semi-deserted beach, which means only you, two Germans and three Greeks are there on a 500-meter stretch and a police patrol on a scooter comes, you will pay the price. We did. Immediately we decided we can not try to calculate how many drinks or great dinners we could have with that money.

B) Money for dinner drinks. In hotels the drinks are not included in the half-pension dinners. Strange. It is all-you-can-eat buffet but you can’t get a lousy bottle of water for free? Some Czech tourists who are staying in this hotel smuggle their own drink into the, well, mess hall. Even though there is a sign on the door that forbids it. Interestingly enough, the sign is in English AND Czech…only.
