The Great Prague Airport Rip-off

In Economy, In The News, Travel on July 19, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

Apparently, the Mlada fronta Daily has a story today on the subject of concession stands’ prices at Prague International Airport. A .33L bottle of WATER costs 85 to 90 crowns which is according to current conversion more than $4!!!!! This is laugh-out-loud ridiculous. Don’t, don’t and once again don’t buy anything at Prague Airport if you aren’t starving to death. Across the street from the Terminal North 2 building is a Billa supermarket that has more favorable prices. Or wait till you get to downtown Prague. Or if you are thirsty drink tap water in a bathroom. Tap water is sometimes said to be better than bottled one. Speaking of water: do you know why there are no drinking fountains at Prague Airport (those you can see in every dark hallway of every high school in the U.S.)? I don’t know… Soft drink company lobby perhaps?
