Smallest Czech Coins To Be Pulled Out In 2008

In Economy on August 2, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

One Czech crown = 100 hellers. This monatery rule will no longer be of any use as of August 2008. As the Central Bank announced, 50-heller coins will be pulled out of use next August. It means that from that month on most sales will be rounded up to crowns. So, no 25, 50 CZK but 26. Everything will be more expensive, some Czechs yell. The truth is that the coins no longer fulfill the role of “monatery unit” (I think it means the value of the coin as such is higher than the value of what it represents…).
