This Fall: Brno-Girona Direct Flight

In Economy on August 14, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

As of this fall people from Brno can travel to Barcelona, Spain. A new direct flight will be operated by Ryanair. So far there are three regular flights from Brno: to London Gatwick, to Prague and to Moscow. As for Moscow, the regularity is not that regular since it is not a daily flight.

The traffic in Brno could be heavier. But — Vienna Schwechat is only two hours away by shuttle bus, same with Bratislava International Airport… So the international aiport in the second largest Czech city is rather sleepy. Of course, I don’t take into consideration the summer charters.

The new direct flight raises some questions. Like: why Barcelona/Girona? Why not Madrid? Why not Paris. There used to be a Brno-Munich flight operated by Cirrus on a turboprop. Cancelled after a few months…. So I am a bit skeptical about Barcelona, too…
