Adopt An Irish Greyhound

In Law, Life on September 3, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

I always thought Western Europe was the civilized part of Europe from which Czechs should learn a lot. Like when it comes to clean streets, polite bureaucrats, or politicians (who resign after serious scandals).

So it was a big surprise to find out that Czechs save old greyhounds from Ireland who are too old and ill to race and make money. According to Novinky.cz news server a movement called Adopt-A-Greyhound will bring forty dogs from Ireland and will take care of them and offer them to people for adoption, whereas in Ireland, as a representative of the movement is quoted as saying, they would die very soon. Or they would be destroyed/killed.

People who are willing to adopt the dog must pay a 4,500 CZK fee (120 Euros).

Use ’em and lose ’em? I thought it only applied to women dumping men… {insert a huge smiley here}
