The Brno Market Is The Junk Market

In Life on September 12, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

A few dozen wooden booths grew in recent days on the main square in Brno called Freedom Square. If you expect a traditional market with hand-made products, traditional cuisine, hot wine (CORRECTION: half-fermented) and such things, you are only about 15 percent correct.

Some idiot at the city hall who is responsible for these events yet again failed to keep this event under control. Many, many many booths are selling pure junk, like backpacks, socks, terrible-looking Asian toys… It is the worst flea market full of junk among which it is hard to find a nice hot wine booth that would not be an eyesore.

Don’t go there, please…

  1. Hot wine? Never heard of such a thing. Hmmm …

  2. Hi, the author perhaps means “half-fermented wine”, we call it “burčák”.

  3. Thank you, Daniela. I appreciate it. 🙂
