The Fittipaldi Incident Picked By Foreign Press

In Law, Sports on December 7, 2007 by Petr Bokuvka

Millions of people all around the world know that the Czech Rail company is in a big trouble because it let two-time Formula One champ Emerson Fittipaldi drive Pendolino high-speed train.

The story was picked by the Guardian and the International Herald Tribune

Both via AP but what the hell…

Come to think of it, the fact that the railway company faces a 10-million penalty is not good news. It is our money. It is a state-run company that manages to eliminate competition on the tracks so far. But as of 2010 this kind of competition will be abolished by EU legislation. It is about time.
