Christmas Week: Will The Country Collapse?

It will be a big test for the country’s economy and for many sectors of everyday life.

December 24, 25 and 26 are national holidays in the Czech Republic. This year these days fall on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thousands of people will take the remaining two days off, giving yourself a nine-day holiday. What I am a little afraid of are institutions that taxpayers expect to be working and functioning. If anything happens during the last days of the year there might be a lot of knocking on locked doors.

I must say I am glad that I am not a journalist in the news reporting slash editor-of-the-day category because newspapers enjoy a four-day break and then they have to bring the news on December 27…
