Two Americans To Seek Asylum In Czech Rep.

In Law, World on February 12, 2008 by Petr Bokuvka Tagged: , , ,

The two Americans that I mentioned two posts below who were arrested for violating visa regime in the Czech Republic seek asylum here, the news server writes.

The two men (aged 30 and 31) extended their stay by three months beyond their visa deadline. They are now in a refugee camp in Postorna, a town near the Slovak border.

According to the news server the men have some relatives here, which is the reason why they decided to become asylum seekers.

BUT!!In order to receive the asylum status the applicant must describe the situation in his country he or she decided to run away from. I am afraid that “Donald Trump’s scary hair piece” does not qualify”.

Sure, law is law, but hell– I don’t think the two men were that much of a problem themselves. But on the other hand, I am sure they did not have health insurance and their stay was not possible from other legal points of view. Their chance to succeed in the asylum seeking procedure is almost nonexistent…
