Czech mayors get a raise, while firms reduce wages

Raise your hand, if you are NOT pissed off. No hands, I knew it…

During this financial crisis when people are losing jobs, companies are reducing salaries and almost all economic indices are falling, Czech mayors or regional governors are getting a raise.

Mayor of Brno can be happy to receive CZK 7,500 ($340), so his current salary is CZK 90,403 ($4,100) per month, his colleague from Prague has a slightly higher salary. This raise is a result of a statutory order issued by the Czech government…most definitely prior to the crisis, but still…
